As a magician in London, I get to perform at some fantastic venues. Last week, I was booked for a private party at the iconic Blue Bar at The Berkeley Hotel in Knightsbridge, London.
The Blue Bar opened at The Berkeley in 2000, and used to be a regular haunt of Madonna. She’s a close friend of the designer, David Collins. Apparently she even asked him to use it as an inspiration for the décor in her London home!
I arrived on a chilly February evening to see the gorgeous shimmering lights adorning the exterior (don’t expect to see them now, apparently they’re being taken down this week). A friendly doorman directed me to the left through the gorgeous foyer of the hotel into the Blue Bar.
It was late on a Tuesday night and so the main bar was pretty quiet. It’s a lovely bar, high-end but without feeling pretentious, and the staff were friendly and attentive.
They have an extensive drinks menu featuring fine wines, spirits and classic cocktails, and serve food in the form of small bites and canapés. You can find a sample menu here.

Private Hire at The Blue Bar
I was booked as a party magician in the adjoining pavilion, a small space that’s available for private hire. It holds 30 people standing, with some seating around the perimeter and a DJ booth. There was no DJ booked for the night I was there, but I understand the hotel can arrange this on request.
Floor-to-ceiling tassels cover the interior, creating a glamorous and intimate space for private events.

Blue Bar Location
The Blue Bar is inside The Berkeley Hotel on Wilton Place. It’s a short walk from Hyde Park Corner or Knightsbridge tube stations.
I’d recommend The Blue Bar if you’re looking for the perfect spot for an exclusive party, or if you’ve got clients you really want to impress at a private drinks event.
If you are planning event here, why not hire a magician to make the night even more memorable? I’d love to hear from you.
