I spent most of last week in Portorož, Slovenia working as a conference magician at DynamicsMinds 2026.
It’s a gorgeous location, and we were blessed with high temperatures and sunshine for the whole event. I mean, it’s a conference, so most of that was spent in an air-conditioned hotel, but each evening we were treated to dinner and entertainment on the beach. Corporate events won’t feel quite the same again!
I was hired by Fastpath (part of Delinea Group), a software company who had sponsored the event. They had a booth at the conference and wanted an experienced trade show magician to engage people and help their sales team get more leads. That’s where I came in.
I had some playing cards designed with their branding on the back, and stopped passers-by with magic that was loosely themed around their products. It seemed to go down really well, the stand was very busy every day and we even had people come back for more magic!
While I was working for most of the trip, I managed to squeeze in a little leisure time and added an extra day to explore the capital, Ljubljana. It’s a small but lovely city, with the old town easily walkable in an afternoon.
