Working as an event magician can be brilliant fun, but it can also be a lonely job. I usually work alone, so it was a pleasure last week to work alongside two other magicians at a corporate drinks event in The Crypt at St Paul’s Cathedral.
The event was organised by Tamesis Dual, a large insurance company. 250 of their brokers got together to celebrate the year’s successes over drinks and canapés at this impressive venue. I’d never been inside The Crypt at St Pauls before – it’s a fantastic space, apparently the largest of its kind on Europe.
I was working alongside Richard Pinner and Katherine Rhodes, two other brilliant corporate event magicians. After a brief welcome speech by Tamesis’s CEO, we each worked different sections of the room, performing close-up magic for small groups at a time.
We had a great night entertaining everybody, working off each other’s energy as well as the guests.
Close-up magic is a brilliant way to create a buzz at any event, it gets people talking, and create memories that guests will remember long afterwards. Interested in how magic could fit into your next event? Get in touch for a chat!
