Venue Spotlight: Florattica Rooftop Bar, Aldgate

While working as a corporate event magician, I get to visit loads of brilliant venues. This week, I had the pleasure of performing close-up magic at Florattica London for a networking event hosted by Nuvei.

Florattica is a rooftop bar above the Canopy by Hilton, a short walk from both Aldgate East and Tower Hill tube stations. It’s a great venue with brilliant views over the City of London, nice decor and a great team of staff. Perfect for private and corporate event hire!

When you arrive, you’re greeted by a floral arch that’s clearly been put there for influencers to snap their Instagram photo.

Once you’re inside, a lift transports you straight up to the 11th floor, where the friendly and efficient staff greet you and check your bags and coats.

Florattica boasts some gorgeous decor, which according to their website is “inspired by East London’s textile industry and the local 17th century French Huguenots’ silk woven floral patterns”. There’s plenty of room to move around, with ample seating and low tables around the perimeter, plus a few standing tables. A great lay-out for standing drinks receptions.

There’s also an outside space with great views. Sadly, I was there on a wet and windy February night, although many people from the event were still enjoying the terrace and city views thanks to fact it’s covered and heated. I’d love to go back and see what it’s like in the summer, but it’s definitely a year-round venue!

The bar itself has a decent collection of drinks, an extensive spirits collection and a great cocktail menu.

They serve food – nibbles and small plates only. On the night I was there, the staff were whizzing around with delicious looking canapés throughout the evening,
